Premium waterproof epoxy grout and mould-resistant silicone joint replacement for showers, bathrooms, balconies and wet areas across Sydney. No tile removal required.
What Is Epoxy Grout?
Epoxy grout is a two-part system made from epoxy resin and a hardener. Unlike traditional cement grout, it is completely waterproof, non-porous and highly resistant to staining, mould growth and chemical degradation.
For showers, bathrooms and balconies, epoxy grout is the industry-standard solution for long-term waterproofing. It does not shrink, crack or absorb water — the three primary failure modes of cement grout that lead to leaks.
Key insight: In many shower leak repairs, replacing cement grout with epoxy grout resolves the leak entirely — without removing a single tile.
Why Epoxy Grout?
Epoxy grout outperforms cement grout in every measurable category that matters for wet areas.
Unlike cement grout, epoxy grout is non-porous and will not absorb water — eliminating the primary cause of shower leaks.
Epoxy grout does not support mould growth and resists staining from soaps, shampoos and hard water deposits.
Premium epoxy grout lasts significantly longer than cement grout, reducing the frequency and cost of future repairs.
Formulated to withstand Sydney’s humidity, temperature swings and coastal salt air without cracking or degrading.
Dark mould lines in silicone joints indicate the seal has degraded and water is penetrating behind the surface.
Visible cracks, gaps or pulling away from tiles mean the silicone has lost elasticity and is no longer sealing.
Yellowing, greying or pink staining indicates chemical breakdown and loss of the waterproof barrier.
Even quality silicone degrades over time. If your bathroom silicone is more than 5–7 years old, replacement should be considered.
Silicone Joints
Silicone joints in showers, baths and balconies are your first line of defence against water ingress. Over time, silicone degrades, shrinks, cracks and loses its waterproof seal — often without any visible warning until water damage appears elsewhere.
Sydney Sealed removes all old, failing silicone and replaces it with premium mould-resistant silicone engineered for Sydney\u2019s climate. Every critical junction is sealed: shower bases, wall junctions, screen frames, bath edges and balcony interfaces.
Quality guarantee: We only use premium neutral-cure silicone — never cheap acetic-cure products that shrink and fail within months.
Our Process
We examine every grout line and silicone joint to determine the full scope of deterioration and required work.
Careful mechanical removal of all failing cement grout and old silicone without damaging surrounding tiles.
Joints are cleaned, dried and primed to ensure maximum adhesion for the new epoxy grout and silicone.
Two-part epoxy grout is mixed and applied into joints with specialist tools for full, even coverage.
Premium mould-resistant silicone is applied to all critical junctions using backer rod and tooling for a perfect seal.
